Rest and Room
Sharing my art with you has been one of the most fascinating experiences I’ve ever pursued. Watching someone interact with a piece of art that came through me, but is clearly meant for them is profound. You all have changed me. I am still in awe of the miracle of this kind of connection. I want more of that.
So I’ve put all of my current art works online. Take a look at “The Art” section of my website and what I currently have available. If there’s a piece that speaks to you there, let’s have a conversation about it. My job is to help this art come to you.
Now I’m making room for rest. Physical room and mental room. My priorities are shifting. In order to see any evolution, I need to have some empty, empty time, empty calendar, empty space. I’m pursuing “empty” right now.
I just got back from my last scheduled event for a good while. It was wonderful. Now for a summer at home, free of deadlines and I’m so excited. I ran to the beach for a few hours yesterday right in the middle of a work day! It was glorious.
We’re working through a long list of house upgrades which is a little chaotic as we consolidate the madness of working with so many skilled folks, but really what I’m doing is making room. I’m making room for order. I’m organizing the studio and getting it to the point where it will support the next phase of how I want to work.
I’m making room for exploration, for experimentation, for failure. You can find me in the studio at all hours playing with color palettes and doodling away. I never know what will work or not work. Will something have enough depth to become a collection or will it even hold my attention long enough to want to pursue to that degree?
I have to play for a while and see what captures me, what feels true enough. And I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you.
