Seasons of Water, August 13 - October 25
A collection shaped by the changing waters of Lake Michigan and what they have taught me about moving through seasons of change.
My life and work have been shaped by living beside Lake Michigan, it has been my horizon, my refuge, and my teacher. I have watched it shimmer beneath summer light, reflect the quiet fire of autumn, disappear beneath winter ice, and awaken with the winds of spring—steady in its essence, even as it is continually transformed.
Over time, I began to recognize those same seasons in my own life.
Seasons of Water is a series of organic expressive abstract (acrylic) paintings, that are not portraits of the lake, but conversations with it. Their shifting blues, layered reflections, and changing light become a visual language for memory, faith, surrender, and renewal. Like the water itself, each painting reveals and conceals at once—inviting us to linger, to notice, and to trust what lies beneath the surface.
My hope is that these paintings become quiet places to pause. May they remind you that beneath every season of uncertainty, unseen currents are carrying you forward, and that beauty is often found not in resisting change, but in allowing ourselves to be transformed by it.

The artist behind the work
I am a lifelong, self-taught visual artist working primarily in acrylic abstract paintings. After a great loss reshaped my life, I returned to my native northern Michigan, where the rhythms of the seasons, lake, land, and light became deeply embedded in my work. My art is visual poetry, exploring love, faith, nature, and the inner work of becoming, and can be found in private collections across the country.
